Identify Numerals

A numeral is the written symbol for a number. When you see '3', you say 'three'. Learning to recognise numerals is the first step — every number has its own unique symbol.

Tips

  • Each numeral has its own special shape — learn one at a time.
  • Try saying the number word out loud when you see the numeral.
  • Some numerals look similar (like 6 and 9) — look carefully at which way they face.
