Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Do we use cookies?
EduPrac does not use HTTP tracking cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, social media cookies, or any other third-party tracking cookies.
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless — it does not set tracking cookies and does not identify individual visitors. It only records aggregate, anonymous usage.
Your web browser may set session cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function (for example, to deliver pages over HTTPS). These are transient, contain no personal information, and expire when you close your browser.
2. What we use instead: browser local storage
Instead of tracking cookies, EduPrac uses your browser's localStorageto remember your session and preferences — for example, your progress before you sign in and settings such as sound on/off. Unlike cookies, localStorage is not sent with every HTTP request. When you create an account, your progress is also saved to our cloud database (Supabase) so it is available across your devices.
We use localStorage to store:
- Country preference — which regional version of the site you are viewing (e.g., Australia)
- Worksheet progress — your attempt history and scores so you can track your learning over time
- Guest progress — your practice history before you sign in (once you create an account, your progress is saved to our cloud database instead)
- Onboarding status — whether you have completed the welcome introduction
3. Why we chose local storage over cookies
We deliberately built EduPrac to avoid cookies because:
- No advertising or profiling cookies — nothing follows you around the web
- No cookie consent banners needed — our analytics (Plausible) is cookieless
- Account data is protected by row-level security — each account can only access its own data
- No third-party trackers can follow you from EduPrac to other websites
4. How to clear your local storage
You can delete all EduPrac data stored in your browser at any time. This will reset your progress and preferences.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → select "Cookies and other site data" → Clear data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data → Choose what to clear → select "Cookies and other site data"
You can also use your browser's developer tools to inspect and delete only the EduPrac localStorage entries without affecting other sites.
5. Third-party content
EduPrac does not embed third-party widgets, social media buttons, or advertising that could set cookies from external domains. All content on EduPrac is served directly from our own domain.
6. Changes to this policy
If we introduce any cookies in the future, we will update this page and provide appropriate notice and consent mechanisms at that time. EduPrac is currently in beta and this policy may change as the platform develops.
