Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

EduPrac is committed to making our educational platform accessible to all Australian students, including those with disabilities. We believe every child deserves equal access to quality practice materials, regardless of how they interact with the web.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). EduPrac is built as a single-operator platform — we are continuously working to improve and are committed to ongoing accessibility improvements.

What we've done

Steps we have taken to improve accessibility include:

• Semantic HTML — we use proper heading hierarchies, landmark elements, and ARIA labels where appropriate
• Keyboard navigation — interactive elements (buttons, links, answer options) are reachable and operable by keyboard alone
• Colour contrast — text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios
• Responsive design — the platform works on screens of all sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors
• No time pressure — practice worksheets do not impose time limits that could disadvantage students with cognitive or processing differences
• Text alternatives — images used in questions include descriptive labels or emoji representations designed to be screen-reader compatible
• Audio support — question text can be read aloud using the built-in text-to-speech feature available on each worksheet

Known limitations

EduPrac is actively developed by a small team. Some areas we are still working to improve include:

• Some complex interactive question types (such as drag-and-drop sorting) may not be fully operable by keyboard alone — we are working on keyboard-accessible alternatives
• Diagrams and mathematical notation in some questions may not have complete alternative text descriptions yet
• We have not yet conducted formal third-party accessibility audits, though we plan to do so before full launch

Technical information

EduPrac is built with React and uses standard web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript). The platform relies on the following browser accessibility features:

• Screen readers: Compatible with NVDA, JAWS, and macOS VoiceOver. We recommend using a recent version of Chrome or Safari.
• Browser zoom: The layout is responsive and functional at up to 200% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling on most pages.
• OS-level text-to-speech: Works alongside operating system accessibility features on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may contact the Australian Human Rights Commission regarding disability discrimination under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth).
