Days and Times of Day
The 7 days of the week always go in the same fixed order: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday — then they cycle back to Monday again. Learn this order and you can answer any days-of-the-week question.
Worked examples
What day comes after Wednesday?
Say the days in order: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday… The day that comes straight after Wednesday is Thursday. Count to the next position in the sequence.
Answer: Thursday
What day comes before Friday?
Say the days in order: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday… The day that comes just before Friday is Thursday. Count one step backwards from Friday.
Answer: Thursday
What day comes after Sunday?
Sunday is the last day of the week. After Sunday, the week starts again — so Monday comes next. The days cycle round and round.
Answer: Monday
Put these days in order: Wednesday, Monday, Friday
Say all 7 days in your head: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun. Find where each day sits: Monday = 1st, Wednesday = 3rd, Friday = 5th. So the correct order is: Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Tips
- •Say the days in order every morning to memorise them: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun.
- •After Sunday, the week cycles back to Monday.
- •School days are Monday to Friday. Weekend days are Saturday and Sunday.
- •To find 'the day before', go one step back in the order. To find 'the day after', go one step forward.
