Put the Story Steps in Order
Stories happen in order. First something happens, then something else, then the ending. Putting events in the right order helps you retell the story so it makes sense. This is called the 'sequence' of a story.
Worked examples
Put these in the right order: (A) The cake is ready to eat. (B) Mum mixes the batter. (C) Mum puts the cake in the oven.
First you mix (B), then you bake in the oven (C), then it's ready to eat (A). The order matches how you really bake a cake.
Answer: B, C, A
Put these in the right order: (A) Sam waves goodbye. (B) Sam packs his bag. (C) Sam walks to school.
First Sam packs his bag (B), then waves goodbye to family (A), then walks to school (C).
Answer: B, A, C
